Half Crown show great Heart to overhaul Nomades
Six teams took part - Coventry, Whitnash, Solihull, The Nomades, The Swan, from Hereford, and The Half Crown from Stockton - with each entering three pairs.
The Nomades had an excellent start and were leading the field with five wins after two rounds, closely followed by Coventry and Solihull with the Half Crown struggling with only two victories to their credit.

Dave Hancox and Garth Fletcher of the Half Crown quickly found themselves 9-1 down to Jean-Denis Scatena and David Mason. However, they fought back to take the game 13-9 to put the clubs level on wins and with a gap of just two points.
Jerome Rousseau and Rich Powell held their nerve against Ian Brittain and Steve Clark, and an excellent spot carreau by Jerome gave the game to The Half Crown, 13-9, which gave them the advantage.
The third game was well advanced by this stage and although Nomades’ Patrick Robiquet and Ian Dyson gained the win over Barry Scott and Claire White, the points difference was not enough to overhaul Half Crown.
Solihull were third with eight wins.
